So you might have noticed that the themes have been changing every time you refresh the page or notice something being added or deleted (soo sorry for that).

So I have been thinking about this for a while now, a lot of you people correspond with us through mails, mostly to point out a few mistakes that slipped by us, and in all honesty, it becomes a problem for us to go through each and every mail that you send us and it even takes more effort for us to write back to all of our respondents, you have to know that we are only three people here who also have their own lives and responsibilities to take care of, so trying to reply to each and every mail that we receive is too cumbersome and time consuming, not that we are complaining through as all three of us reply to all the mails sooner or later.

Some of the mails we receive are related to some sort of corrections for mistakes that slipped by us, so to reduce the burden on us (at least in this regard) we decided to create a Google Form Response Sheet for all of you, it also saves you the time to open up your mailbox and type out your suggestions, so that you can directly submit your suggestion to us, without the hassle of going through all that.

You can access the form from here, or from the menu too, depending on your ease. (P.S. you might have also noticed a slight change in the main menu)

I’m finally back from my business trip, yup home really is the best place to be. It seems you all enjoyed a lot of ‘fun’ remarks from my sister CurlyAdi and SmartyMouth while I was out.

That aside, I was actually surprised when CurlyAdi said that she read to Chapter 683 in the raws, while I still am only at Chapter 150 dammit. There’s a long way ahead to catch up to her, must be really nice for her to be able to read Chinese. Hmmm… maybe I should fire her and look for another TLC who would not try to give out every little spoiler there is in the story to my face. Will have to discuss this with SmartyMouth and our overlords (our parents) who will definitely interfere in the matter. Or maybe I should punish her with something else…. What are your opinions for this?

Its me CurlyAdi once again, bro will finally be back from his business trip by tomorrow. So all would not have to deal with me much 😉

Before going through to read the chapter, there are a couple of small changes since I have finally read to the halfway point in the current raws, i.e. right now I am at Chapter 683 in the raws. Where if we use a few of the current terms it would only cause confusion to you all. So in order to avoid that, here are a few corrections for the grading of the cultivation methods and techniques:

Ordinary Level -> Ordinary Grade

True Level -> True Grade

Black Level  -> Profound Grade

Tian Level -> Heaven Grade

I already made the changes in the glossary, and as for the changes in the previous chapters, I’ll do it tomorrow.

So this happened yesterday, as we were eating dinner, my sister CurlyAdi, who you might have known from the previous posts, is studying Chinese for the past three years in her college and has taken it up as her minor, suddenly asked me out of the blue as to why I chose to translate the title 造化之门 of the series that I was translating here as “The Gate of Good Fortune” rather than “The Gate of Creation” or “Nature’s Door” or (going by the literal translation)  “Good Luck Gate” which are actually a more accurate translation of the title. Moreover even SmartyMouth chipped in that he had seen some chats on the other websites that say that the main reason why they don’t read this series is because we didn’t even translate the title correctly (Don’t burn me for this as even I am not sure about this as he always has a tendency to make things up and exaggerate things to out of proportions). P.S. Most of you would have by now come to notice the changes in the realm names, so during this weekend I have been discussing something with many of the manual translators working on different projects. The point of discussion was using Chinese names/terms when translating a series.

Usually many translators like Deathblade and others usually translate the Chinese Terms to an English Equivalent, for example (Taking from this series itself)

Ling Shi –> Spirit Stones
Lan Shan –> Blue Sands…. etc

We still haven’t reached a consensus among ourselves though, whether to use these Chinese Terms or use the English Equivalents. Some here are in the opinion of using the Chinese terms for the names of characters and places and use the English Equivalent for the other miscellaneous terms, but then there are others that feel that if you really want to use the English Equivalents then we should also use the same English Equivalents for the character/place names, while there are still others who think of not changing the terms at all and continue with it.

If any of you people frequent the subreddit of noveltranslations then you would be much familiar with the discussions on many of the series that heavily used Chinese Terms while translating.

So what we do want to hear from your side is, what would you prefer as your own personal choice:

1. Using Chinese Terms of character name/places and use English Equivalent for the miscellaneous terms.
2. Using Chinese Terms for all the way through.
3. Using English Equivalents for the Chinese Terms all the way through (including names of characters and places)

Please do comment what you would like to see, and we would then go ahead with which one of the three has the highest votes (personally speaking, I like the first option better). So, once you finish reading the chapter or before it or during reading it (if that ever happens) just comment with a number (1,2 or 3) for your choice.

Not to mention even totmes, I don’t know if any of you read the comments in the previous post but, totmes really provided a plethora of information which really helped us finalize the terms (though the last realm is still a bit iffy, will correct it and finalize it once we find more information about it, but as for the other realm names, they are more or less now finalized).

So below are the changes that we have incorporated after literally banging our heads on the walls and of course vomiting a few mouthfuls of blood *wink*wink*:

Qi Condensation Realm -> True Condensation Realm

Building Yuan Realm -> Essence Building Realm

Mysterious Liquid Realm -> Profound Congealing Realm

This is the first guaranteed regular chapter of this week, i.e regular Monday release.

P.S. Sorry for the posting this chapter late, it was actually completed yesterday, but I ended up reading ahead and finally reached the 100 Chapter in raws, all I can tell you at this moment is that it finally starts to get exciting from here onward.

Also while reading the raws I finally came across the chapter where all the 9 Cultivation Realms in this series were briefly discussed (only in name), and honestly I don’t know if the author has a whacky sense of humor or I misinterpreted the words, but either way I might need a bit of help from our reader base to finalize the names of the cultivation realms (not having a TLC who knows the language is really a pain, and the one we do have cannot be reached at the moment, he probably is scared because we kidnapped him last time to update our glossary), so any help in this area will be really appreciated as I spent almost the entire night just on that particular chapter.

This might be considered a minor spoiler, so if you all can skip it if you like, as it has the names of the 9 Cultivation Realms, from 1 to 9, in this series:

On a side note, good news for you all, I finally was able to pass the elementary Chinese course that I had been taking in my free time with a full 87% marks. It may not be much in peoples eyes, but its still a huge leap for me, as it brings me a step closer to become a manual translator. Personally speaking, learning a new language sure is tough, especially if you have a full time job, which involves a lot of tiring travelling, plus taking care of my bratty little sister and brother, who always are finding new ways to kill me early (I swear to god, those two plan new ways to kill me every time I leave for work).

CurlyAdi was a bit busy with discussing some girly stuff with her friends in the house which believe it or not doesn’t sound bad or irritating at all, it even made me want to join in. So, this time as CurlyAdi couldn’t edit the chapter, so my little brother, SmartyMouth, stepped in to fill her shoes or sandals or pumps or whatever the girls call their footwear as.
