P.S. Most of you would have by now come to notice the changes in the realm names, so during this weekend I have been discussing something with many of the manual translators working on different projects. The point of discussion was using Chinese names/terms when translating a series.

Usually many translators like Deathblade and others usually translate the Chinese Terms to an English Equivalent, for example (Taking from this series itself)

Ling Shi –> Spirit Stones
Lan Shan –> Blue Sands…. etc

We still haven’t reached a consensus among ourselves though, whether to use these Chinese Terms or use the English Equivalents. Some here are in the opinion of using the Chinese terms for the names of characters and places and use the English Equivalent for the other miscellaneous terms, but then there are others that feel that if you really want to use the English Equivalents then we should also use the same English Equivalents for the character/place names, while there are still others who think of not changing the terms at all and continue with it.

If any of you people frequent the subreddit of noveltranslations then you would be much familiar with the discussions on many of the series that heavily used Chinese Terms while translating.

So what we do want to hear from your side is, what would you prefer as your own personal choice:

1. Using Chinese Terms of character name/places and use English Equivalent for the miscellaneous terms.
2. Using Chinese Terms for all the way through.
3. Using English Equivalents for the Chinese Terms all the way through (including names of characters and places)

Please do comment what you would like to see, and we would then go ahead with which one of the three has the highest votes (personally speaking, I like the first option better). So, once you finish reading the chapter or before it or during reading it (if that ever happens) just comment with a number (1,2 or 3) for your choice.

Not to mention even totmes, I don’t know if any of you read the comments in the previous post but, totmes really provided a plethora of information which really helped us finalize the terms (though the last realm is still a bit iffy, will correct it and finalize it once we find more information about it, but as for the other realm names, they are more or less now finalized).

Before proceeding for the chapter, we wanted to bring to light a few name changes that we decided after discussing it with other translators both here, reddit and the Wuxia World Forums. So below are the changes that we have incorporated after literally banging our heads on the walls and of course vomiting a few mouthfuls of blood *wink*wink*:

Qi Gathering Realm -> Qi Gathering Realm (No Change)

Qi Condensation Realm -> True Condensation Realm

Building Yuan Realm -> Essence Building Realm

Mysterious Liquid Realm -> Profound Congealing Realm

Mysterious Dan Realm -> Profound Core Realm

As for the other realms that have not yet appeared in the chapters, you can check them out in the glossary.

As for who the lucky people who helped us are, well you will come to know about them later in the night when we release another chapter in honor for those kindhearted souls who helped us out despite their busy schedule.

This is the first guaranteed regular chapter of this week, i.e regular Monday release.

P.S. Sorry for the posting this chapter late, it was actually completed yesterday, but I ended up reading ahead and finally reached the 100 Chapter in raws, all I can tell you at this moment is that it finally starts to get exciting from here onward.

Also while reading the raws I finally came across the chapter where all the 9 Cultivation Realms in this series were briefly discussed (only in name), and honestly I don’t know if the author has a whacky sense of humor or I misinterpreted the words, but either way I might need a bit of help from our reader base to finalize the names of the cultivation realms (not having a TLC who knows the language is really a pain, and the one we do have cannot be reached at the moment, he probably is scared because we kidnapped him last time to update our glossary), so any help in this area will be really appreciated as I spent almost the entire night just on that particular chapter.

This might be considered a minor spoiler, so if you all can skip it if you like, as it has the names of the 9 Cultivation Realms, from 1 to 9, in this series:

So my request is, if any of have an alternate name or think that I translated them wrong (at least for the last 4 realms), then please point them out with a few suggestions, the help would really be appreciated and your name or screen name (your choice) would even be featured in the post and as well as the chapter page that would be dedicated to you (this is apart from the regular chapters, i.e you all get an extra chapter which would be dedicated to the person who proposed the names).

On a side note, good news for you all, I finally was able to pass the elementary Chinese course that I had been taking in my free time with a full 87% marks. It may not be much in peoples eyes, but its still a huge leap for me, as it brings me a step closer to become a manual translator. Personally speaking, learning a new language sure is tough, especially if you have a full time job, which involves a lot of tiring travelling, plus taking care of my bratty little sister and brother, who always are finding new ways to kill me early (I swear to god, those two plan new ways to kill me every time I leave for work).

CurlyAdi was a bit busy with discussing some girly stuff with her friends in the house which believe it or not doesn’t sound bad or irritating at all, it even made me want to join in. Only if it wasn’t for the long a** report that I have to submit by tomorrow and also thinking that it would be creepy as hell for an older brother to join his sister’s ‘discussion’.

So, this time as CurlyAdi couldn’t edit the chapter, so my little brother, SmartyMouth, stepped in to fill her shoes or sandals or pumps or whatever the girls call their footwear as. I could not completely go through his work, so I am not sure if their are any errors in it or not, so if any of you do find out, be a gentleman/woman and point them out.

So first things first, as requested by some of you, the glossary that I had neglected for the past month has finally been updated to the latest chapter along with their corresponding Pinyin.

Honestly it was really a headache to comb through the raws for the various stuffs in the series by just myself, my sister CurlyAdi just gave up after doing the first 10 chapters, so I ended up kidnapping enlisting the help of one of my friend who actually knows Chinese. Sadly he did not want to help us in translating, even when we tried to torture coerce him with goodies. He agreed to at least help out when we are really stuck up though, but it completely depends on his work schedule and mood. Sigh, just why is everyone so moody, must be because they cancelled their new year bonus.

So after sitting through a grueling 48 hr marathon of combing though the raws and correcting the translating and grammatical mistakes that slipped by, we were finally able to finish the most detailed glossary that I ever saw till now, a warning though, the glossary might also contains some minor spoilers relating to the future chapters (for the up to date readers) and some really major spoilers (for the new readers/the readers who like to binge read), so a request to all, please don’t spread it around.

If you do want to discuss the spoilers then rather than doing here, you can do it on the subreddit of /noveltranslations. Or you can even mail me personally, I will try to reply if have already read that part, if not I can at least point you guys to the right spoiler forums.

So you might have known from the previous post, that I was ‘working’ with a friend of mine through the Christmas, so I wasn’t able to translate a chapter.

So when I came back a few hours ago, I actually found that my sister CurlyAdi, actually translated the chapter, which really surprised me, since she usually sticks to only editing and proofreading. Though it took me a while to check and correct it, but it still was a damn better job than me when I first started to translate.

So without further ado, enjoy the regular Saturday release, completing this weeks quota of regular chapters, no sponsored chapters though.

Lastly, I am now adopting a self made rule (after the chapter checks and glossary is updated) that once 10 chapters are completed, I will go back and once again go through the raws and those 10 translated chapters to see if I made a mistake in translating or there are some grammar errors that slipped by us or if we find a suitable and more fitting English Equivalent terms. This will continue till we at least recruit a Translation Checker (TLC). I’ll try my best to stick to the schedule in the mean time. Since I wanted to stick to my schedule, I ended up translating the chapter as soon as I woke up (also having a holiday from work is also a part of the reason).

P.S. I have been getting a few request for changing the names of the realms in the story and also add the raw characters (Pinyin) in the glossary.

CurlyAdi is already working on the glossary part, you might have already noticed a few Pinyin Characters added if you visited the Glossary Page, so I think that by tomorrow it should be fully updated.

As for the Naming Part, the raws for them are already being put in the glossary, you can go through them and suggest what would be the best English Equivalent for them.

I have already trolled through many forums and talked to a few other manual translators for the many of the terms here before deciding on them, but still if any of you people have a better alternative for it, I can still change them depending on the popularity and your opinion.

Also, once I get back, I am planning to go through all the previous chapters once again (raws and translated chapters) to see if I missed anything and correct any other grammar mistakes that might have slipped by us before. You can also help out if you wish to by pointing out the mistakes. As a result, the regular Saturday release might get pushed to Sunday.

Oh yes, last but not the least, wishing you all a Happy and Cheerful Christmas in advance, hope you all have lots of fun, and by fun I mean Eggnog (if you are of legal age, but is doesn’t hurt to sneak out a few cups ;p ).

Hi All

Before we proceed to the chapter, let me tell you all a story.

Once upon a time, there was a young man, not too old nor too young, somewhere in the mid 20’s. What he liked most was to play games, the one that people called as PC games. But alas because of his work, he was unable to go back to his old days, of playing non stop with his friends and yelling at each other during a special game-play which went by the name of ‘Multiplayer’.

He was invited many times into the immortal caves of many of his friends to play with them, as they did not have much work to do, and had even the option to work from their immortal caves. But alas because of the work that he had to do for his ‘Sect’ to earn some Ling Shis, he ended up declining the offers one after the another.

But it was not that he didn’t want to go, but rather he couldn’t. He wanted to save up some holidays, so that he could go back to his own immortal cave to once again resume his cultivation in the way of the games.

It was a long time since he had touched on the path of the games, and had even purchased a lot of different game cultivation manuals like ‘Fallout 4’, ‘Black Ops’, ‘Metal Gear’ by spending his hard earned Ling Shis. He was planning to go into at least a week of closed door cultivation so that at least he could master one of the cultivation manuals, and had even asked the patriarch of the sect to excuse him from his daily duties for a week.

He had even warned his own younger siblings to not disturb him as currently he was at a critical juncture of breaking through to the next level. And for insurance he had even bribed them with a few pieces of Ling Shis so that they would leave him in peace and also be on a lookout for anyone trying to disturb his cultivation.

He even put up many Array Formations in his immortal cave, like the ‘Do Not Disturb’ Formation, the ‘Door Closed’ Formation, etc. But what he didn’t expect was that at that very moment when he was at the absolute critical juncture of breaking through to the next ‘objective’ during the cultivation practice of the ‘Fallout 4’ manual, he would be violently shaken up by a mysterious yet powerful force that was like a ‘slap on the back of the head’.

When he turned around in fury to punish the person who interrupted his enlightenment, he was immediately stunned and paralyzed with fear. Words could not come out of his mouth, even his hands which just a moment ago were on the ‘keyboard’ type artifact, immediately went limp.

He never expected that this person would come and interrupt his enlightenment. But at the moment he could hardly complain at all, for the person in front of him was none other than the one he feared the most, his ‘Mother’. At that moment, she was glaring at him with a fierce intent to kill in her eyes, she did not speak till now, but when she spoke it was just like the thunder rumbling in the heavens, and the words were constantly reverberating in his mind “How many times do I have to tell you to go and bring the grocery bags from the car?”

He wanted to refute those words by saying that he could not hear what she said because he was in the middle of his enlightenment and was infinitely near to breaking into the next level in the ‘Fallout 4’ cultivation practice. But he just couldn’t get the words out of his mouth, that death glare from her, made him feel suffocated inside, even his very bones were shaking, it was the first time for him to see her this angry. Behind her, his younger siblings were maintaining a solemn expression on their faces, one would think on looking at them that they were just the reincarnation of angels, and thus could do no wrong.

But that mischievous glint in their eyes, could only be seen by him, it was then that he came to understand that it was his siblings who were responsible. He had paid them with precious Ling Shis to warn him of any dangers beforehand, but from the look in their eyes he could tell that it was all pre-planned by them.

He wanted to shout at them, point them out, but under the death glare from his mother, he could only silently bow his head and endure it. He vowed that he would have his revenge, no rather he must have his revenge, otherwise he would never be able to have even a single night of peace……..
